GLÂNDULAS DIGESTIVAS ABSTRACT Carnivorous plants have characteristic adaptations (heterotrophy) to complement their nutrient reserves, in relation to other strictly autotrophic plants, in response to nutritionally poor environments in nitrates and phosphates. In order to capture their prey actively and passively with modifications in their leaves, they use devices of attraction like odors, nectars and showy colorations. The process of digestion is due to the presence of the digestive glands, which through glandular trichomes produce enzymes such as esterases, acid phosphatases, proteases, peroxidases, amisals, pilases and invertases. With this, the phosphate and the nitrogen are harnessed, guaranteeing the complementation of the nutritive reserve. Palavara- chave: carnivorous , digestive glands.
